Common types of camera shots that are used include close ups, extreme long shots, and handheld shots. Common types of costumes that are used include long jackets, hats and suits, and red dresses. Common types of lighting that are used include muted lighting, shadows, and dim lighting. Common types of acting that are used include exaggerated movements, running aimlessly, and underplaying the danger. Common types of makeup that are used include dark circles under the eyes, scar wax, and liquid latex. Common types of props that are used include mysterious notes, footprints, and magnifying glasses. Common types of sets that are used include deserted buildings, dark passageways, and poorly lit environments. Common types of editing that are used include cutting away, dissolving, and jump cutting. Common types of sounds that are used include sound bridges, sound motifs, and voice overs. Elements of the genre that I would use if this was my production would include jump cutting, voice overs, and high angles. Elements of the genre that do not appeal to me, and I would not use if this was my production would include obvious poorly lit environments, liquid latex, exaggerated movements.
