3. Kid hitting marshmallow into fire—black and burnt 

4. Kid laughing-Hank remarking Not funny  

5. Woods in background –John yelling, “Where’s the firewood!” 

6. Derek picking up sticks and holding it up, shouting, “Be there in a minute.” 

7. Shadow standing still panting 

8. Derek with arm full of sticks and singing “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad” 

9. Monster starts running and Derek shouts, “Is anyone there?” 

10. Scream from campsite. Derek—walking back to campsite laughs and remarks, “Who burnt themselves this time?”

19. Monster alone but Derek hears it as he runs, and turns to see a shadow of something chasing him 

20. Derek continues to run towards lake with footsteps coming closer 

21. Derek screaming and running down path to the lake 

22. Monster running behind you (Camera shot from behind) 

23. Low shot of Derek running towards bath house 

24. Bath house getting closer—Derek screaming, “Who are you? Who’s out there?” 

25. Derek running to door 

26. Inside of building facing doorway as Derek runs inside bath house and slams door 

27. Derek sitting on floor rocking and muttering, “I’m okay, I’m okay.” 

28. Door gets kicked in by something—audience sees nothing 

29. Derek scrambling towards the back wall shouting, “Get away from me! Whatever you are---get away.  Help me someone. Help!”

Scene 1- Sitting by a campfire   John: (sitting next to campfire with marshmallow on a stick): Hey look at this gooey mess on my stick. Hank: (staring at black mess on his stick) Mine is all burnt and gross. John: (hitting Hunter’s stick) Now it’s a black mess in the fire. (laughs out loud) Hank: Hey man, not funny! John: Hey, Derek! How much longer? We’re running out of fire (inaudible response from the   woods—scene fades out)     Scene 2- Derek in woods collecting firewood   Derek: (shouting loudly) Be there in a minute! (begins humming to himself) (undistinguishable crunching sounds like footsteps) Derek: (singing to himself) “I’ve been working on the railroad…” (crunching sound gets louder) Derek: Hello! CCR: Question 1 and 4

Hey Cambridge, I will be filming a day in the life of Dylan Tanner as I answer questions 1 and 4 of the CCR for AICE Media.   How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? In response to the first question, let’s break it down into two parts to better address both issues.   While filming this production, I chose to use a lot of shadowy imagery with fade-ins, fade-outs, tracking and sounds to build suspense without ever giving away the ‘actual monster’s’ face.   I used a variety of camera shots spanning from wide angles to close ups. I chose a variety of close-ups of the character’s faces to only reveal looks of horror and fear and to keep the identity of the ‘devil’ under wraps.    The music in the background starts out with a pleasant and low tone sound, with is paired with a visual of a clear road leading into the woods.   The tune becomes more ominous and the visual changes into a narrower an...
